An exceptional bicycle rental operation is one that:
carries different bikes ranging from electric bikes to mountain bikes to road bikes.
delivers your bike(s) to you on time.
rents you as many bikes as you would like for as many days as you want to ride.
provides you with maintenance when something goes wrong.
offers accidental damage insurance.
Here at Synaptic Cycles, we carry different road bike brands such as Masi, Cannondale, Focus, and Scott.
We offer some popular electric bikes such as Aventon, Haro i/O, and our own Synaptic Cruisers, Folding and Fat-Tire eBikes.
As far as bike types go, we also have some high-performance mountain bikes such as the Haro Double Peak.
We regularly deliver bikes to various locations in Los Angeles County, Orange County, as well as San Diego County. In essence, we serve all of Southern California which is no easy task for most other bike rental services out there.
You can call us and ask for only one bike or have us deliver 14 bikes to you. At the end of the day, it’s up to you.
If you find yourself wanting to keep the bike for a few more days or even a few more weeks, we got you covered. In fact, we will let you ride it more at a discounted price.
Last but not least, if you roll over a sharp object and get a flat or experience any other accident, our insurance covers it all. You can go to a closeby bike shop, get the bike fixed, keep the receipt and we’ll reimburse you.
If you’re still not convinced as to why you should choose for us to take care of you, give us a call at (949) 484-6409.

Since we started our business, we have gotten calls for bike rentals in the greater Los Angeles area. Up until now, we have had to charge an additional fee for serving those areas. It was simply too long a drive and too far outside our normal service area to serve without charging for the extra time and mileage.
We are extremely excited to announce that as of the week of May 26th, 2014, we have officially begun to serve the greater Los Angeles area, along with our other service areas of Orange and San Diego Counties. In doing so, we will offer our same great service, along with FREE delivery and pick up within our normal standard service area. Our new service area will be an approximate 30 mile radius from Santa Monica.
To reserve your bike or contact us, check out our designated Los Angeles page. If you use our fillable forms, simply use the pull down menu to specify the area you are interested in. Otherwise, feel free to call us directly. Don’t worry about getting it wrong. We’ll gladly direct you if you’re not sure about what area to choose from the menu!
Greg Donovan will be the day to day manager/owner of Synaptic Cycles Bicycle Rentals in Los Angeles. He has been working hard behind the scenes to learn the business and get set up and ready to go. He will be starting out with incredible road bikes from Focus and Volagi. His Focus offerings will be the Focus Cayo Evo 2.0 with full Ultegra DI2 drivetrain. Additionally, he’ll have several Volagi Liscio 2 bikes with Ultegra 11 speed mechanical or DI2.
Greg approached me around the end of 2013 with a desire to partner up in the Synaptic Cycles venture. He was a former customer and a great guy so I though it would be worth exploring. Since then, he has worked with me to see how I go about the day to day business, attended the United Bicycle Institute courses to learn more about bike mechanics, and shown a willingness and desire to serve customers in a way that our customers have come to expect.
Along with individual bike rentals, Greg will be offering group and corporate event services, just like in our original service area of Orange County and San Diego County. Please, help me welcome Greg to the Synaptic Cycles family and get in touch with him about your bike rental needs in the greater Los Angeles area!
Occasionally, we are hired to provide services for group and corporate events. Last week we provided bicycle rentals at a conference at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel. United Parcel Service wanted to have bicycles available to attendees and their families. We were contacted somewhat out of the blue and a little late in the game, but we were able to pull together the amount of bikes and get everything together on time for the event.
These kinds of events are the sort of thing we can easily do. There are a large number of places that rent bicycles, but many of them are tied to a shop. Our business is inherently mobile. We don’t have a brick and mortar shop that people come to in order to rent bikes. We bring the bicycles directly to you. And if we can bring one, we can certainly bring more.
We specialize in high-end road bicycle rentals, but on fairly short notice, we can obtain other types of bikes. For the event at the Ritz Carlton, we brought road bikes, city bikes, and beach cruisers. We also provided helmets to everyone that rode.
In addition to providing the bikes, we have the ability to bring an experienced bicycle mechanic that has worked many years in bicycle shops in Southern California, but has also served as a support mechanic during races and charity bicycle events. We have no problems throwing a bike on the workstand and getting it back up and running, and if needed, we will set up a bike on a stationary trainer and make sure that the bike fit is adjusted for you.
We haven’t advertised these services much, but we really should. These events are a lot of fun and allow us to meet great people and get them out on bicycles. We don’t want to limit ourselves to conferences, though. If you want to plan a corporate team-building event, we can do that. If you want to plan a small group tour, we can do that. We have the ability to provide many bikes in a variety of sizes and we can provide the type of support that your group or company desires.
Let us help you plan your event. We can provide the bicycles, the fitting and mechanical expertise, as well as the basic support for your event. We will even provide rolling support or tour leaders should your event require it.
Please, call us at (949)374-6079 for pricing. We evaluate your needs and provide pricing based upon the bicycles and services you will require for the event.
